Learn to Fly 3d RC Helicopters

GET READY its on again!!! Just when you thought it was time to prepare yourself for the Christmas ahead the Heligods and MRCHC have decided to join forces once again and run the fun fly to beat all previous fun flies.

There will be lots of smiles, lots of fun, lots of heli smak, events, food - you name it! If its heli related it will be there! Don't forget that we also run the night time event as well. We are holding this event on a Saturday but don't plan anything for Sunday either. If @Storm Heligod is not forgiving, we can postpone the event to Sunday! So don't...
Question? Align 800 Trekker
Hi all, recently i received an align 800 trekker dfc as a gift :D wow! Just looking at it it has 7001 hv servos and a caslte creations 120hv esc as standard, now im no hard smack pilot but i like hard turns and stopping helis quick to hear the blades crack every now and then, tick tocks, what i like to think are piroflips, and inverted circuits etc is this setup going to be ok or will it fail?

Servos rated to 20kg so id like to think they would be fine but the esc im worried about as a friends 700 has burnt the 120 out with just simple forward flight and loops.

Does anyone fly this heli...
Okay. Does anyone here have any experience with the Assault 450/ Orange T6 combo currently offered by HK? I'm assuming no since there are no posts in this area. (Disclaimer: I don't have $1000 or $2000 laying around to be able to buy a "high-end" name-brand heli, so don't start in on me about clones. I know what's at stake. I don't intend to try to fly 3d with it right off, and certainly not until some upgrades to Align parts are done.)
Now the DEVS at Accurc had told me there were some big changes re helis about to be released. Well I have been ignoring this sim for a while because it started to fall behind the other sims. BUT check out the new release details!!

I am transferring my O.S. GT15HZ gas engine to another airframe, and noticed that, the ignition module metal braid wire to the spark plug is worn in a few parts.

Does anyone know where to buy some metal braid wire to patch it up?

I dont care about aesthetics, its the RF shielding that I am worried about. Would it be enough to go to a hardware shop, and get some metal braiding of a plumbing hose fitting?

I am guessing for EMI shielding, copper metal would be best. Maybe some copper tape from Altronics or Jaycar?

Well every once and a while new stuff comes along and you think that it cant improve on current technology. Such is the case I thought with HALO blades until I grabbed a pair of switch blades from @ZENRC for my Goblin 380 on the weekend. I was lucky enough to give them a blast today.

Let me state I have been using HALO 385s which are also fantastic blade as well. I will en-devour to explain the differences.

GEOMETRY:

The SWITCH blades are 2mm shorter but the taper is much shallower at the tip - ie the switches are a bit...
