Okay. Does anyone here have any experience with the Assault 450/ Orange T6 combo currently offered by HK? I'm assuming no since there are no posts in this area. (Disclaimer: I don't have $1000 or $2000 laying around to be able to buy a "high-end" name-brand heli, so don't start in on me about clones. I know what's at stake. I don't intend to try to fly 3d with it right off, and certainly not until some upgrades to Align parts are done.)

      Back to regularly scheduled program......
I assume since the GT450 is nothing new or innovative, there's no real need for me to run a build thread on it once it arrives..... so I probably won't.

Hey @Beaver, i think a build thread would be good! It would help all those wanting to get into the clones - ie usually the learning pilots. It would be great to capture your first hand experience! For sure, if you have the time it would be great to see....

I suppose I could run a build thread on it, once it actually gets here.

I called EBay to ask about the varying arrival estimate, and they have it listed as "by Nov. 24" and that I'm covered under the money back guarantee. I took a gamble on the deal as it is, after all, how often does one find a "450 super combo" for $35+ shipping?
It does sound almost too good to be true.

35$? Thats strange. Go to a local hobbyshop and get a 500 man. You will be happy.

Oh, I don't doubt it. I really don't want to go bigger than a 450 just yet though, I do most of my flying in the "back yard" and in other limited areas. I'll go with a bigger heli once my skills improve.

Yes you know the thing is when i progressed from a mcpx to a 450 i was terrified! This exact same feeling happened every time I progressed to the next size heli. Its a great feeling and lets you know that you are truly alive!

Imagine how I felt, going from an E-razor 450 to a Synergy N5  After hovering it for a few minutes, I had to land and sit down because my knees wouldn`t hold me up.

Yes its truly intimidating stuff. But once you do it the rush is awesome. You just have to tripple check things before your first flight to give yourself confidence.

Yes, you are so right about that. I got the same feeling from the 700 on the first spool up and flight too, and I have been flying for five years. I actually love that feeling though. Strange, huh? LOL

Its called being an adrenalin junkie @Geena. The shaky legs and the feelings associated with it is the adrenalin going through the body. Its an awesome feeling - makes you feel alive afterwards. So back in prehistoric times when we were being chased by a bengal tiger thats how our body would react - if you have to move the adrenalin will help you will move quicker. Also if you are cut you bleed less - its what the corner men in cage fighting use to swab cuts with... it thickens the blood. And after a heavy Adrenalin dump you are usually gifted with endorphins once all the action has died down (Just incase the bengal tiger caught you - or the helicopter - lol) so any injuries don't feel as bad.
