Today helicopters are pretty refined. We have many different helis and most of them are great if you assemble them right. For some reason however there is allways a cursed heli - one that crash heligod has touched for example.

So what heli have you owned that you could never get right. Which one has given you the least amount of enjoyment. Did you ever just give up on a heli?

I can't really assign regret to any one specific heli I have. Up to now, they've all been cheap RTF helis, but be that as it may, I have gotten my use out of them and learned what I needed to learn from them. They are all still airworthy in their own respects, due to either my determination or stubbornness (take your pick there)..... especially that crazy Syma coaxial I upgraded.
My only real regret is not doing the research BEFORE I entered this hobby, otherwise I might have made better choices and taken a more productive path. I didn't know what 3D meant until 6 months in. It's all "air under the rotor" now though..... I'm moving up.

Mine is a Kasama Eco 90, I have spent probably over 2k on that (not including the initial buy and set up cost), it has gone in 3 times, blown a YS120, broke a hatori pipe in too (in the air) and I have it sitting here with stripped crown gears after my last flight. The heli has only done 18 flights in total! Here is some pics for everyone's amusement - but am still holding hopes for the old girl

And the pipe, luckily I wasn't inverted when it happened

Same as above kasama eco 90 always vibrated like hell in the tail.
Turned out aftet lots of frustrating time and parts purchased the tail rotor gearbox wasnt machined at 90 degrees so could never get the mesh right.
Did love the way it flyed though carnt beat a 90 nitro heli.

Chase 360, sadly. QC issues on parts meant the promise shown in the design just wasn't translated to real life. Out of round pulleys, sloppy bearing pin surfaces & ball links made out of hardened cheese meant constantly going around in circles fixing things.
Got rid of it before it became a liability.

Twister Pantera 50. The only good thing about this one is I got it for $350 with an O.S engine and muffler. Mind you this was my first heli, I have had day dreams about getting another one, converting it to flybarless, and seeing if I can tame it.

Blade 450 flybarred, what was I thinking, this one belongs in the confessional.

HK 450, lets not go here.

Kasama Srimok 90e, my Logo xxtreme 480 is superior to this.

Mine was a twister 250. It flew only once, felt like a wet sponge and once it crashed I put it in my heli grave yard and it sits here until this day...

True @Beaver it felt soggy when i flew it? I would move the sitck and 1 second later it would decide to move. I never had such an unresponsive heli...

Walkera 450. Don't really know why I purchased it. I think I just wanted to add to the growing collection. It Never did what I would call flying.

That's pretty slow. So was it due to slow electronics or was it the airframe? That sounds like something I would have taken as a personal challenge to try to correct. (You know me...)

..... however, if I've been looking at the right picture.... the thing looked to have a rather strange looking fly-bar mixing system on it. I can see why the response would be slow.

Flybar systems would have to have a bit of delay just by their very structure. I flew a flybar rex clone 450. It was ok but I could feel the delay of the flybar.
