Strange such a great heli, I know it's a few years old, but the design is good, performance is good, and the new Formula canopies are SEXY!

How would you compare it to the 6S stretch mini protos? Thats the only 450 I have and I run 360 align blades on it! seems to be so good with the 360s, perfect infact. But how do you find the MiniP compares as I know you have both William. But looking at your video, the X5 looks so accurate and smooth in the air!...

They are in two very different classes, the X5 being a true 500, that can swing 520s, and the Mini P a 325, that can be stretched to 360s...

The mini P to me is a great throw around heli, I fly it low, close, and sort of carefree, The X5 has my full undivided attention, it's big and powerful, graceful... yes, smooth... yes. Like most larger helis, while flying it, my primitive fight or flight self preservation gene says" RUN" This thing won't just cut you, it will take your head off!

A more direct compare would be the X3 and the Mini P and they both fly good, the mini P has better numbers in the VBar setup, sans a cleaner ratio on the head and tail setups. The Mini P is the Ninja, quite precise, accurate, though not as tuff, The X3 is the loud, and a little heavy, but man is it tuff. So more like a Samurai, armor, power, still a great flier, just not as light and agile!

520 is quite a large blade @William. and yes i am sure the x5 should be well respected. I treat my 55o rex with the same respect. While looking at the video I thought the helicopter was actually a bit smaller, as it seemed quite nimble and you flew it just as well as your smaller helis. Re the MiniP, The only issue i found when running 360s on 6s was the tail. Changing the tail leaver to a lynx upgrade made a huge difference.

I was trying piro tic tocs and four pointers for the first time in a long time today, glad I had the X5 to stay up high and let um rip!

Not my best looking flight, but I feel I made some good headway to getting comfy with the new moves...

I don`t have an X5 yet, but I`m planning on adding one to the fleet in the very near future. A couple of my team mates have been talking about putting an R5 tail boom and X7 torque tube ( cut down) on them and running 550mm blades. I may give that a go, and see how it works.

Now that sounds like a plan!
The X5 is a great heli. It's one heli I don't I'll ever part with.
