Ok.. like other people I have picked up a protos 380.. standard not the Evo... anyway here is what is going in it...

    Cyclic Servos: BK3001HV
    Tail Servo: MKS HV9780
    Motor: XNOVA 2820
    Pinion : 24t
    ESC: HobbyWing 60a platinum v4
    FBL : Mini Brain 2
    RX: r6303SB
    Main Blades: Switch 383
    Tail Blades: Stock

Upgrades: Red Dampers, Metal servo Mounts

    Build:
Over all the build was quite easily, however there were a few cases of screws and bits in the wrong bags.. but generally it has been pretty easy build...

    Pros:
    Most Parts CNC
The middle plate is very strong, and is used to keep most things together.
Boom being removable easily is nice.
Tail case is very well formed, and everything is nicely aligned
Canopy and mounts.. oh what a joy.
    Guide for belt tensioning.

    Cons:
On the tail slider uses pins through plastic to hold together.. this doesnt make the tail as free as I would like
FBL placement is limited, however with the mini brain 2 with wires pointing up are not the greatest.

NOTE: I had to reduce the boom by 2mm.. as stated from the manufacturer is was an error with the aluminium boom

Here is what is in the box...

Begin buy putting the motor and motor mount first.. pretty simple
      [IMG]
putting in the mail gear, shaft and belts.. are all pretty simple.. the main shaft just sits in the base plate.. with this I am using a larger pinion, so there is no need to put in the the part to tighten the belt for the stock pinion
      [IMG]
Next put on the side frames.. note there is a LEFT and a RIGHT one, they are not the same...

Now to throw on the landing gear on and the base... now just be careful when puting it in.. you need to careful when putting the frame and the base together.. you need to get the side frames inside near the base for the motor...
you can see here where the carbon slips behind the bottom plate.
Next mount the servos and make up the swash and anti-rotation bracket... all pretty simple.. I dont have a third cyclic, so I left that out...

now put on the head and follower arms...

On to building the grips just a quick pic on the main blade grip differences between the Mini Protos and the Protos 380
      [IMG]
put through the feather shaft.. there was a lot of grease in the threads, so make sure to clean them out properly... I used the red dampers and there were a very very tight fit.. pay attention to their orientation.

The tail case goes together pretty simple...

Here is where I got carried away with the build... so sorry about not showing the boom and rest of the tail going together...

Now for the tail servo... I used the C adapter for the servo
      [IMG]
      Servo mounted...
The canopy goes on pretty easy.. put the canopy mounts and magents on,.. line up the canopy and attach the canopy sides from there...

the neat side of the heli.. not showing the wiring.. will do when I get the last servo in...

Looks awesome @Manyc, I'm thinking about getting one myself soon, you will have to let me know how the mini brain goes and and of course your maiden flight :). Where did you get your "upgrades" from?? ZEN also or somewhere else??

This is just sooooooooo awesome @Manyc... Great build thread! How cool is the tail belt drive? And there is some descent amount of meat on the main bladegrip holder. I could not see it flexing very easy. Tell me, i could tell 100% from the images - is the motor mount aluminium? it would make sense if it was. Its a nice solid piece of infrastructure down the center part of the heli. Well done!

yeah pretty much all the black parts are CNC.. including the motor mount, and central plate, are CNC
