Well, all was going well enough, I purchased a 200qx multi-rotor for cheap enough..... complete with spare parts and a Dx5e with 3-way mode switch.... all was good till I somehow managed to end up in the swimming pool and burning the 4-jn-1 esc board. Thanks a lot @Crash Heligod for that one..... I was beginning to think you had moved on toward other interests. By the way..... you still suck...... whatever.

My BFF - Beaver! Yes I like quads as well. Two rotors, Four rotors - all the same to me! Now you have no idea how hard it was to steer your quad into the pool. But thanks to some divine luck i was able to push it right into the watery void. I love the sound the electronics make as it fizzles and pops, there is nothing like it. Rest assured your 200qx is sitting right beside all the other sacrifices you have kindly contributed over the years. You will allways have a special place in my (cough cough) heart Beaver!

No.....I can actually blame that one on myself, the damn 3-way mode switch was on "full-3d" instead of "limeted mode"...... Only if you had mysteriously had managed to toggle the switch while I wasn't paying attention, could that have happened...... who's to say. It might have been my own "dumb-ass" fault.... but then again..... it might have been your damn boney-ass fingers playing with my radio while I wasn't paying attention. Meanwhile, I noticed that in transit, the mode switch had been damaged in transit, so I replaced it with a switch that doesn't allow "full 3D" mode..... so you can't do it again. :p

Okay.... I tried to keep my 7 or so packs at "storage" voltage..... but damn if most of them seem to be lacking of capacity. What is the best way to re-cycle them back to correct? I have a digital charge/discharge/balance unit now, but not sure if I can save the packs (1000mAh/2S) if they aren't already damaged. Thoughts??.......

Ok.. so how old are the packs? You can try a deep cycle charge-discharge to try and breathe new life into them. This should be a feature on your charger - depending on the model. It slowly discharges the pack to a very low percentage - then charges them up to a high percentage. It takes a while to perform this operation but has been reported to work.

Also sometimes if packs are new but have been sitting around for a while - running a few cycles through them might bring them back to life. But alas - sometimes things get old (the chemicals inside the battery are not as good as they used to be) and sometimes you just cant revive them no matter what you do.

I been avoiding the discharge cycle on my charger, it takes the voltage down to 3.0 volts per cell.... is that normal?? It's one of those cheaper IMAX units, but seems to have all the necessary features.

Well the charger does it GENTLY - so the slow-discharge and slow charge is intentional. The minimum "safe" lipo voltage (with no load hardly) is 3.0 volts. Its very nerve wracking to see the voltage around 3.0 - i actually performed this cycle on new packs with no issues - they lasted just as good as all my other packs. But when the battery is in a heli/car, the load requires a bigger safety net.

Right... when flying, amperage is greater.
My charger actually regulates from 1 Amp down to 0.1 Amp at end of cycle, same with charge cycles.... seems to be reasonably thorough. It's one of these:
