Bit more done last night... hoping to have the mechanical build finished tonight... then into setup. Kinda been thrown out with the bec not rocking up... in regards to laying out the components... but I have an rx pack that will fit.

Also bit disappointing that the pitch lever and slider are plastic. Hope cnc ones come out soon

Mate I would like to hear if you could tell the
difference between a plastic one and a alloy one. It's all
about the bling isn't it. Also are you goin to let everyone
fly it.

 

With the mini protos the plastic bell crank would weaken over time and it would start blowing the tail out on funnels and the like. Yes this would be thicker and most likely stronger plastic but the forces on it are going to be larger as well. and with being bitten by a plastic bell crank with the mini p I'm just cautious. Time will tell... but bling is always nice....

As for letting people fly it.. I'm setting it up as a beginner heli on 6s to suit my flying style... What people really want to fly is your 12s monster that is going to tear a new one in the sky...


I suppose will see what happens with how the parts hold up... but I guess part of me see that even align cnc that part I sort of wonder... but then again it's a completely different beast with a longer tail so maybe it will stand the test of time..

I fly with an open mind...

Ok this feels like the build that just won't end... Got the mechanical pretty much done... just wiring and adding the extra electronics... and if course the setup...

Nice! Got all my electronics in... fbl setup done.. I love turn buckle rods... I have even throws on positive and negative...

Haven't received my bec yet but I'll be using a receiver for the maiden... just need to program the esc... Will use the castle governor initially but I have wired up so I can use the brain if I want...

Jas I think I might have the belts a bit tight not sure... how do you tell... I basically pulled hard on the motor and the tail when I tightened them..
