Well i recieived my goblin 380 on Saturday the 9/5/15 at around 11.00 am from zen RC. After one hour of gasbagging with @ZEN RC we decided it was time to start building at 12:00 am.

FIRST STEP.... File down all the edges of the frames using sandpaper.

The frames went together really easily. The most significant thing i should point out was that you should make sure you install the battery clip. Small part easy to forget.

I installed the bottom plates and the servo mount as suggested in the manual. If you dont insert the servo now, you will have to remove the rear servo mount at a later stage.

One of the things about this build is how well laid out the components are and how impressive the instruction manual is.

I brought the optional landing gear... the mounts here are non standard. The front landing gear mount is a bit tricky to figure out so inspect the photo below.

Its even starting to look like a heli now. Currently 53 minutes into the build (note we were drinking coffee and occasionally watching someone fly)./

      IMAG0869.jpg
Installing the main shaft was very self explanatory.

My old MINIP about to be retired. What a fantastic helicopter this thing was.....

Installing the main shaft. Note the SHIM.

Note there is a shim between the tail pulley and the main gear.

Head complete...Very easy to assemble. 1 hour and 29 minutes into the build.

Installing main plate....very simple once again...

      IMAG0890.jpg IMAG0887.jpg

Tail being installed by @The Dude You should pay special attention to the mounting of the tail as i had an issue with the tail on the first maiden. MAKE SURE THE BOOM IS SEATED PROPERLY USING THE NYLON NUT. Mine wasnt. On my second flight the belt flipped off and broke a blade and servo horn. No damage to the model.

      IMAG0895.jpg IMAG0896.jpg IMAG0897.jpg
Pay special attention to the tail box. Currently we are into 3.5 hours of the build.

Putting in the electronics now... We can see the finish line.

      IMAG0900.jpg IMAG0906.jpg

Using the MKS servos from my minip.

      IMAG0901.jpg IMAG0904.jpg IMAG0903.jpg

Adjusting the tail again. Setting up the gyro and some final adjustments......
      IMAG0902.jpg

OK we are ready to maiden Official time is 4 hours and 29 minutes.

Note this was built with two people. So 4.5 * 2 = 9 hours.

      - 1:30 minutes subtracted (@The Dude) due to dude picking up some parts from home and lunch
      - 1:30 minutes subtracted due to me drinking coffee, watching tony fly and general yapping.

It was a relaxed build and my first time building a 380.. It was very easy to do. I think the next time i could build one in 4.5 to 5 hours total if I was really pushing it. Remember this includes setting up the heli. If you want to subtract the setting up the electronics time subtract another 45 minutes.

Oh man.... Very true I concur that i am not the best at creating build threads! I think I had my camera on macro or something. One to many IRISH coffees on build day. And yes "THE MECHANIC" aka @The Dude did most of the build. Next time I am going to hire a photographer... .And i think @Manyc should be the one to take the photos. We were not really that rushed during the build. Quite relaxed infact. was a bit of fun.

Nah I'll stick with the mini till I run out of parts.. then I'll look into it... I'm still crashing a bit so I'll wait till that calms down first...

plus after seeing the results of the speed build.. I think I will take my time... :p
