      Sorry about the links @jockstrap

Check out the summary statement below... the dos and dont's...

      Dos"
      • Do fly a model aircraft/UAS at the local model aircraft club
      • Do take lessons and learn to fly safely
      • Do contact the airport or control tower when flying within 5 miles of the airport
      • Do fly a model aircraft for personal enjoyment
      "Don'ts"
      • Don't fly near manned aircraft
      • Don't fly beyond line of sight of the operator
      • Don't fly an aircraft weighing more than 55 lbs unless it's certified by an aeromodeling community-based organization
      • Don't fly contrary to your aeromodeling community-based safety guidelines
      • Don't fly model aircraft for payment or commercial purposes

      Thanks for that..

Based on your summary "don'ts" - all that already applies over here.. nothing new.. been that way for a looooong time..

Except the 55lb model is only 7 0r 8kg limit here - after that it needs to be certified..

Yea - but it's nothing new here...

Can take happy snaps using a model for fun but can't charge a cent for it without being CASA certified.
And that's a big ask to get the appropriate certification.. same as starting a small charter airline just about.

FPV has to be line of sight - with a spotter.. and the spotter has to be able to activate your RTH or failsafe if an emergency... how anal are we here!!!
