A very good review, full kudos to you.

I run realflight 6.5, which I love. I have flown phoenix (two times, I don't own it). I have purchased AccuRC. I thought I'd insall it on a Mac (under parallels running windows 8.1 - a big failure), then I tried on my work box (a high end i7 with a rocking graphics card and an SSD - (no joy either), then finally on my lappy (again an i7, touch screen, all bells and whistles), and it finally worked. It felt like Phoenix to fly. I didn't like it at all compared to RF, I think @3D Heligod nailed it, it will be good in a few releases, not just yet. RF feels more polished and truer to IRL IMHO. I have one for sale for $100.00 (pm me) if you want it, I think it's not ready yet (hey, there isn't even a plank on it, despite the images). I fully concur with @3D Heligod 's assessment. I would rank them the same (and I'm no smak pilot, so you have two perspectives)

His would you compare heli-x and neXt vs those. I gave Phoenix and heli-x and just purchased neXt. Both have demo versions. Interested in comparison.

neXt is actually quite good as a simulator. I will review neXt but have not tried heli-X. How does heli-X feel @Stuart. Have you tried the stick flick test for responsiveness?

      Stick flick test... interesting!

I have Phoenix and feel its pretty toyish... toyish may be a bit of an extreme exaggeration, but little things like the floaty autos... How you can graze the tail fin stabilizer on the ground in ways you know would annihilate a tail in real life and other small things like damamge from a crash and how you can land on the skids REALLY hard. Ask me how I know lol

I had realflight when I started the hobby, but they didnt have a transmitter module at the time. Decided to sell and get Phoenix so could use my own transmitter.

Looks like I should have just kept the RealFlight on the side, but couldnt justify having two sims..

Guess that's next on my list! Again! LoL

The stick flick test is an indication of responsiveness. It was devised by the great 3d Heligod who became frustrated with invisible lag! So in order to perform the stick flick test, you make sure your expo is on zero, your tranmitter is available and your helicopter is hovering in front of you.

When you flick the cyclic stick watch how the cyclic responds. It should shudder. It cant keep up but it should do pretty well. The responsiveness is important for fast 3d moves... but so are other characteristics ie the blade torque effects.

So Phoenix sucks cause it doesnt shudder at the rate my sticks bounce whatsoever

I even have the graphics at the lowest settings... (and my laptop was purchased 4 months ago.. its a gaming laptop with a good video card and RAM)

My expo is at zero and the heli is hovering pretty close...

      Definitely getting RealFlight now.

Just did the flick test on heli-x... The stick display mimics my controller, you can just see the cyclic trying to keep up but it might only get one shudder before absorbing the rest. There is definitely more than Phoenix. I would say its similar to NeXt.

Good review, thanks for giving an objective look at the three different software packs.
