So what are you doing overthere? How was the launch?

 

I'll be back just before the funfly @smakmeharder and hope to be there, but will have to see how much work I have to catch up on first.

I'm just touring around the US with my better half seeing the sights before the RCHN funfly in a weeks time. It just so happened that the Atlas V rocket carrying OSIRIS REx to the asteroid Bennu was being launched at the time we were in Florida and we couldn't miss an opportunity to see it take off.

The launch went off without a hitch. The crackling sound of the rocket and pressure waves reverberating through your body is an experience to behold.

 

@MadBird Any chance you can make it to TORCHS Tomorrow? ( Saturday, Sept 10) if so, I will make the drive to meet ya.

I've promised my wife that we will do Disney tomorrow, but may be able to get out to the field in the late afternoon/early evening. I'll try and do some sweet talking and let you know

She's said we don't need to check out of the hotel until 1200 and that she won't mind going to Disney from then until close. So if you're keen I can probably come to the field any where from 0830 - 1100 in the morning.

We sure did....and it was awesome! Here is a photo of the two of us together. I was a real treat to meet up with you Matt. I hope we can all do that some day.
