Anyone got the above combo working group the the CGY governor and the HW RPM sensor output.

I'm considering using this combo but have read multiple issues with the external RPM sensor on the V4 ESC.

Im pretty sure the esc doesn't behave well with extenal govs. There's a hack to get it to work.... That said the internal gov is bloody great...

Just use the internal gov.. It's been great for me.. And the cgy has no soft start.. So you have to have the esc do the soft start then have it over...

I've been thinking about putting one of these in my raptor

Yeah I was thinking that I'd like to adjust the head speed in my radio hence using the CGY. But if it's a dud I can either add a hobbywing RPM sensor, or do the hack mick mentioned or just don't bother.
I like the HW because it has a all in 1 BEC

I have heard a few people say they don`t fly well with an external sensor too. I use the internal governor in the HW 160, and it`s rock solid.

Ok take 2.. After consideration I've decided on the following.. Whilst probably more power than my skills demand at this time I have no doubt I will grow into it.

      Hobbywing 160 with XNOVA XTS 4530 525..

      Room to grow.

What are your flight times and head speeds.

It was either the 525 or the 500.. So I took the advice I give others. GO BIG OR GO HOME.
