    Folks - mine arrived today...
Needless to say - Wow, what a heli...

I can tell you this is the hottest 450 out there - but have a look for yourself...

Note: No manual thou - grrrrrr, would have liked a hardcopy manual for the price :(

Does anyone have a soft copy or link to a softcopy of the manual ? Is there even one ????

      Hey @jockstrap
I was going to take the other option and mount the tail servo at the front.. Any thoughts?.

looks tight up front for the tail servo.. I'd mount a bigger one up back - easier to work on and I'm always a fan of mid size not micro for tail servos.. even on a 450..

Here are some pics so far - still needs esc and fbl units mounted...

In this first pic, you can see the front boom support tightening screw abscured by the servo - flip the boom mount around and have the screw on the right side and you'll be able to reach it with tail servo installed.

Of course it will... if it came with the combo then it will be up to scratch..
Just my personal pref for a larger one..

However, I'd put more stress on the tail at the moment than you would so it will be totally fine for you...
It may be a little harder to access that's all but it seems like it should be ok... will still come out with 4 screws like the back mount so no deal really...

Like I said - just personal pref... the heli was designed with the small one to bring CG forward a little and higher so if anything. technically the heli should fly better with the small servo..

Nah - as long as it fits is the important part. The capacity, if over 1300mah doesn't matter in your case as it will allow longer flight time but weigh the heli down a bit.

Seeing you're still learning, that won't be an issue as the heli will have power to burn and more than you need for now - so actually, longer flight times is good!

I have the Pulse 6S 1350 35C lipos... The wire leads are 10 AWG... Are EC3 connectors too small for them?

      Hmm...

      Edit: One more question..

May be a silly question, but are you guys applying green loctite to the flange bearings that go into the motor mount and other mount that sandwiches the pulley gears?

      Of course, right?

What was that... you seem like a good builder. Maybe something to double check and look out for?

Rear canopy mounts - had them on the front boom mounts not middle - so canopy was loose.. no probs now, moved them to where they should be - lol

Had a test hover of mine in the back yard today...

      Hmmmmm - not so good...

Seems something wrong with my tail - maybe the hub bent as my tail wobbles side-to-side a little :(
Like tracking in main blades but in tail - so causing some tail vibes... but not heaps but enough to annoy me and to be of concern...

I pulled the tail apart - all looks good. can only think the hub is not straight as shaft looks straight and grips, bearings, look all ok..

also - on my stock 450 vbar settings which always "just work" for virtually every 450-500 i've used vbar on were causing bad tail gain wags and also cyclic wobbles when flicking the collective..

I can't beleive it - tail gain on my DX7 is down from 46 (normalish) to 30 and cyclic on the vbar is as low as it can go (40 - normally about 65) and it still has a slight wobble when flicking collective sticks :(

I took it inside and changed the cyclic ball links in one hole on the servo arms to give more resolution - now sits around 80% to get 13deg collective pitch whereas it was down around 60% (red zone) before.. now a little better but as i said - still bobbles a bit on quick stops but i'm at the lowest vbar gain it will go :(

Cyclic is still fairly crisp so not too low in gain ???

anyway - going for major maiden tomorrow - wish me luck..

Oh no mate that sucks! It really gets on my nerves when there are issues on a fresh build too.. its happened to me before.. :(

How would the tail hub be bent?! o_O Maybe if its waggin' its your gain??

      Good luck bro
