      For me difference between 600 and 700 is bigger than between 700 and 800.

      I did not fly 880 but I assume subjective difference between 800 and 880 is not huge.

      I like 800 mainly for low RPM behaviour.

      Velos is aimed at relatively high RPMs.

      I have mixed feelings about Velos. I want to know its weight. I want to see it with 1m blades...

      For me personally Super Ava 1000 is more impressive:

      How BIG is that heli!! Never seen such a big heli do piroflips before.

      My question is: does 880 need 20kW if 1000 can do piroflips with 10kW at 800 RPM?

      I know high RPM is spectacular but heavy pig flights are much shorter.

      Low weight 1000 appeals more to me than heavy 880.

      Yes light and less power is another form of flying style... long graceful lines rather than short sharp abrupt ones.. Also less likely to destroy stuff :)

      800 has 30% more rotor area than 700.
      Velos on video has 850mm blades.
      850 has only 13% more rotor area than 800.

      I can do half piroflips with my 800 with 4.2kW motor.
      Velos has 13% bigger rotor and 480% more power.

      Question is, how much heavier it is?

      I would like to see the Velos fly... from what i see its an engineering marvel. But there is alot more weight - ie two motors, two speedys. I think its more of a concept heli. Maybe it would be good for speed but for 3d I think to heavy

      I can see the value of motor redundancy, but if a servo happens to hang-up or some other unexpected malfunction..... it's still an expensive mess after it hits the ground. I could be wrong, but I believe less weight = greater resiliency.

      Yes fully agree @Beaver. Did you note how careful bert was while flying the prototype? I agree as well that weight plays more into a helicopters performance than most of us realize. I allways believe that having a light heli with a strong motor is much better than having a heavy heli with a super strong motor. The amount of energy displaced on impact is proportional to its mass and how fast it hits the ground. More energy to displace means more damage in most cases. So as a concept the Velos is a wonderful machine and would have been some significant design challenges. But for day to day flying??? I dont think it would be very practical. It would be interesting to see what Tareq would do to it...And it would be also interesting to see what sort of top speed it could pull if setup purely as a speed machine...

      Agreed. I've mentioned before as an example, the Nano CPx is very light and virtually indestructible in contrast to something large like that Velos. Doubling up on the power system, increased airframe mass, not to mention the extra battery mass. Is the lift-to-weight ratio really improved, or is it an illusion produced by everything being on a larger scale?

      Give one to Tareq or Dunkan.

      If this frame alone is going to cost $2000 it looks like waste of ammo. I can build 800 for around $1000 ready to fly which is less than 5kg with lipos in 12S setup.

      Considering costs of two motors, two ESCs, four 6S lipos, heavy weight and need for relatively high RPM this heli is good for showing off, "slow motion heli", has good visibility easy to fly but rediculous anyway.

      Am I wrong? Maybe... Just give it to Dunkan or Tareq.

      I do not push 800 hard because I love low RPM when flying 800. 700 is different story it has higher disc load and loves high RPM, screaming and blade farting all the time. Low RPM with 700 is much less fun than with 800.

      I just got new lipos and can easily fly 800 with 2x4.5Ah 6S 30C without heating lipos to much for 5 minutes. 700 heats lipos more but 5.5 minutes are a lot when my friends with Goblins 700 get close to 2 min flights. They fly much harder I admit.

      I recomend reading comments regarding Velos at Runryder. They are far from enthusiasm...

      The velos seems like it actually ;hangs in the air really well. And the piroflips are like butter. Thanks for the videos @utrinque

      If cost is not issue for someone... keep in mind lipos, chargers, this could be great learning heli or start for impressive 3D scale heli.

      It can fly in "slow motion" and probably can be very fast but not particularly agile due to high inertia caused by weight.
