Well you can definitely see the time you have put in on the SIM @iggy. For one year your progress is amazing! I have never seen anyone piroflip after 1 year which is testament to your dedication on the sim. Even more incredible is that you fly solo - no club, yet you have progressed so fast! Perhaps you could represent Switzerland one year in the 3d comps! Your definitely heading in the right direction

      Thanks man! :)

That motivates me even more. I want to fly that helis like a pro one day. So I have to go on the way I do. It would be nice to be in a club. Next year I will move back to Switzerland and maybe join a club if there is one near me.

Yesterday I did some tik toks with my 700.. Its just amazing how this thing grabs the air.. I was just like "damn, thats so easy!".

My packs are full. In one hour Im at the field again.

      Kind regards

      Thanks guys

That means a lot to me. I had no idea how my progress actually is. People here in my place are lucky to see a rc helicopter hoover haha.

I have some servo play on my 500, its 2mm or something. Its not that precise anymore. I can realy feel it when flying hard tik toks. There is kind of delay and wag over the swash. Thats why I do a little break in tik toks before I push it to the other direction.

Im thinking about a new servo kit for this heli. Any suggestions?

An other issue is my tail, I can feel small oscilations when flying fast tail forward. Also there is a quick wag on piro stops. Im reading alot about the PID regulation at the moment but I cant get it solved. Tried several things with P and I gain and the left/right stop parameters for the tail in the gpro. I just dont get it.

      Thanks.

Umm its an interesting question. Im not sosure on 500 size. @thedude might know or @bjay415 . In my opinion its different for each size of heli. And it also depends on your flying preference. For me, speed and resolution is important and holding power is a must. You also must make sure that your BEC can handle it. What do you think guys? Help @iggy out?

IN regards to the servo with slop, replace with new gears.

In regards to the tail, is it centred (tail control arm 90 deg to boom)?

Yes its centered according to the manual. I have flown it with BeastX and didnt had this problem. Didnt change mechanics. Just swapped to the gpro and the wag appeared..

What did you use to mount the GYRO? Use the thin grey tape and hot glue the servo connectors. Sometimes the tight wiring will move the board in the FBL unit.

I used the original Align mounting pads. The wiring is pretty loose.

When I change the parameters of the Gpro it becomes better on one side. But the other goes from fast to slow oscilation. Its realy wierd. More ore less gyro gain on the tx makes it only more or less violent.

Maybe someone can explain me in general what the P and I gain actually do to my tail system? What if I increase/decrease them?

      Thanks.

I would replace the tape & strap the gyro in place also. Check for tail drift in rate mode & make gain adjustments.

      Hi there

Just came in from tail setup. Shot 4 packs in my backyard haha..

I went trough the whole tail process again. Setting servohorn to 90 deg. Adjusting mid position trough software till the heli was holding 100% in rate mode. Tryed several things with I gain (down to 20%), left/right piro stop parameters and gyro gain. Its better now but the stop after hard right nose piro is still a bit sloppy. But better.

I noticed that my pitch slider mechanism is weared out. There is a slight play... But there was a play as the heli was new as well. Maybe its time for some new parts. I dont think its up to the gyro pad.. But I should try an other one before replacing any parts.

I hope that my 700 Align will not wear out this much after 300 flights.

Is the tail control arm set 90 deg to boom?

Yes it is. Im at the field right now. Its much better now. Got less oscilations in fast tail forwards flying and the stops are much better as well. I would rate it as 95/100.

I can fly it this way and learn all that tricks. Next season i will look for a better heli this size. Maybe a goblin 500 sport... :)
