Ok my observations on this flight. 1 It seems very well balanced in the flight. It looks to roll on the elevator axis very well - ie it seems balanced and does not seem to be fighting much while rolling end over end. I would love to see some aerelon rolls as well. just to have the helicopter perform consecutive aileron rolls. I believe the aileron rolls would be awesome because most of the weight looks to be as close as possible to the main rotor. Great piloting skills as well by the way. It does look like it flies VERY nice looking at the video...It looks as if it would be nice and responsive due to the balance. How heavy is it compared to other helis that size?

I just flew it with super low head speed, Didnt tach it but I went was as low as i could go and still physically able to get off the ground and the head was still smooth. Cant find an issue with a Solid head!
I think ill be sticking with the Solid DFC design on my machines.

Nice photos of a very neat design. So the receiver is tucked under the back underneath the flybarless unit?
Nice and compact indeed. What size/cell count battery pack are you running?

since i have my tail servo up top at the front (just behind the motor) there is plenty of room at the back. I have a baby futaba RX is on the side frame at the back. with the next version the tray ill be back on the front so ill put it there or where the ESC is at the moment.
I had a Pulse 6s 1350 pack in those pics.

I wanted easy TT maintenance, NO point re inventing the wheel sometimes :) Nice big bearings on the pinion shaft, should have good longevity.

Testing is going well. Apparently the belt driven tail version sounds fantastic! everyone is very happy with it so far. In the words of Eric (the owner of KDS) "Voice is perfect" My belt bits will arrive in a few days for testing.

The 2622 1950kv motor designed for them has also proved a success with a little more grunt than the 2520 1880kv used in initial testing. I should receive them along with some semi final models for final testing soon.
Ill be interested to see the weight and efficiency and how it compares to the other motors im testing with.

still waiting to see the canopy myself, batch are getting painted up at the moment.
I quickly chucked some graphincs on the canopy design Joly did for it to see how it looks. KDS are not going to make this canopy. But im considering giving the design to Fusuno of others are interested in it?
ETA.... Im not sure i can let that cat out of the bag yet, Sooner than i thought, KDS seem to have the ability to ramp up for production very fast, 18 CNC machines running 24 / 7, literally, shift workers. I cant wait to visit the place...
