What do you consider a good crash "VS" a bad crash .. Is it just a monetary thing ?

For me a "good crash" is the one that happens to someone else. :)

A good crash is one where if you were another 1m higher you'd have saved it. A bad crash is one where you can't figure out what went wrong!
Funny crashes are always someone else's!

I like (probably not the right word) mechanical failures causing a crash rather than dumb thumbs, at least I don't have the "could have....should have..." self beat up afterwards

It is a valid point, but you still have a rebuild ... so the cause if a mechanical failure does not matter (it will be fixed when it's flying again).

Good crash is when practicing autos and you bury the landing breaking a skid and only slightly boom strike with a raptor 50 . Cable tie the skid together, laugh at the dint in the boom, straighten out the blades and take off again :). Bad crash is a midair with a 4 flight old G4 . Don't ask how I know :)

A good crash is when your heli is high in the air, the motor cuts out and it falls and lands on a huge tuft of thick soft grass! Had this happen once with NO damage on my trex 550! and it was a crash!

I've had a complete dumb thumb with the mini protos... hit throttle hold about 20 feet off the ground.. picked it up and flew it again..

Mini Protos are very tough helicopters.... seen them crash many times and it is a fantastic feeling being able to pidk it up and fly again!
