    So lets talk about what it takes to become a good smak pilot. A touch of OCD? Suppressed violent tendencies? reflexes? Big kahunas? so come on, what do you think it takes?

      To smack you need fast and high torque servos, powerful motor and an airframe with big cyclic throws and a low head.

      All the time and money, best heli in the world, wont make you a good smack pilot, you still have to have an aptitude for it, some people just dont have it.. but if you do then yer, well setup heli, lots of time and money ...

      For me it seems like it was a pretty natural progression... Started doing tricks high up, but pretty shortly they came down to the mid range. It wasn't long till my friends were saying "damn dude, you fly low" Then lower and lower, the final push to get right in the weeds with deck scraping, grass blowing, low smack was fueled by the oohs and ahhs of the peanut gallery!
