Sigh.... Thanks for the condolences @Mark Mickels . It had a short but hard life. I was rather fortunate the electronics were fine... no stress on the electronics. The autopsy revealed a broken blade right at the root of the blade. The other blade was ok.... so there is high probability the blade with the break was responsible for the tail strike.. The trick which i believe was responsible for the break was one i made up some time ago and the combination of high pitch on my gobby along with 720deg/sec on the tail was too much over time. I have done the trick many times before but as @3dmick pointed out the blades can only take so much. So the damage report thus far is 2 frames 1 boom blades and tail belt push rod. Everything else is ok, no bent shafts or links (bent links would indicate stress on servos). And the gobby is pretty easy to change the frames on... So hopefully a couple of weeks if i get the parts...

 

Ray I don't like to say this, but I think my bad luck streak is rubbing off on you. Hope you don't have it for too long and pass it on too someone else who deserves it.

Yes @BeLoWseaLeVeL you could be right... .first the motor cooking and now the heli exploding. I need to pass it on to someone else... @Crash Heligod is haunting me now....
