Does anyone fly in LIGHT rain? If so what are the main dangers? i would have thought water in the transmitter would have been the worst issue.

I have done it a few times, most recently being at the mini blowout earlier this month. It rained on and off all day, so we had to fly between showers. It rained on me in flight twice, so I just landed and got under the tent til it quit. I have at times put the transmitter into a plastic shopping bag to protect it from a light misty rain.
