This my friends is the event not to be missed by any mere mortal. The upcoming queens birthday is as we all know a long weekend so the Idea has come to fruition from TEAM NO - CRASH. That we the heli brethren hold the fun fly of the century Starting at melb heli club bright and early for an Awsome days flying topped off with a BBQ for lunch to keep our brains sharp so CRASH cannot take advantage of brain fatigue. The we relocate to freestylers for the late afternoon/ evening night fly session.. and a bon fire with a sacrificial heli experience like no other. Then we retire to my house with our traditional melb heli piss up sim session with loud music and me on guitarrrrrrrrrrrr. What do you reckon guys. ALL WELCOME

Well my fellow heli maniacs not long to go now to the winter solstice FF. Saturday just gone the club had a working bee good to see everyone turned up and put in their fair share the place looks shinier now. I like shiny things. We have a hovering/testing area a 450 flight area and our main flight line is split into 2 flight/3D/smack flight lines which will be made into one main HUGE flight line after lunch. Cause not everyone likes flying in a small area thus allowing everyone to tear up the whole sky of the air field without worrying about invasion of space. Will have a pilots briefing just after 9am to explain what's the do's & dont's are then at 9.15am the fun will begin. Oh man I can't wait.
Oh nearly forgot. Go TEAM NO- CRASH

      This is a @HeliGods announcement

No sorry guys I just got home from our committee meeting and there will be no red neck flying.
The MAAA and CASA do not condone it the heli must have its own light system to comply with regulations.
There has been a couple of incidents in the last 2 months and one of the incidents is being pursued in court
charging the a aledged pilot at fault so there will be no red necking on my watch guys sorry. Bloody rules.

dont the MAAA rules say no rednecking unless the heli has its own light system that can be turned on if needed?

Ill have a look and see what I dig up

Not sure mate. Just putting this out cause I thought the mighty radar was Goin to turn up and show us how it's done in the dark
and I know he does not have a night rig as so and I don't want to jeopardize the event with what has happened elsewhere.
Just want to be on the safe side buddy.

Okay: here it is and I quote
"Flying with the aircraft illuminated by spotlights is not permitted unless the aircraft is also capable of immediately reverting to operation under nightflying condtions for the class of aircraft in the event that the aircraft flys out of the spotlight beam."

So does that mean we can still redneck but the heli must have lights also?

Does it say anything in the rules about setting fire to a mcpx as a sacrifice to the heligods.
