It's been used or demo'ed for sure, I will only use scorptech now but everyone to their own.
Good luck with the card, it looks fast. Check out CUDA - with all those spare stream processors

LOL... i am a victim of my own automation @simon (was not supposed to show here - RSS in from heligods channel). I had a problem with GTX 1080TI two weeks after purchase.....When i received the card it had no shrink wrap on it so i was very suspicious. My intuition told me to take a video of it - just incase. Well it turned out to serve me well.

The card started to crash whenever a 3d game was launched. I since found out that the power cable (two 8 pin plugs) was not quite pushed in all the way (it was out JUST a TINY bit!) and this caused the card to fail whenever it was under any type of load. So all appears to be cool for now - however PC Case Gear are aware of my issue and i let them know i was pretty peeved with the product appearing to be opened. They responded pretty quickly. I use Scorptec as well - unfortunately i am a bit addicted to computing power.

Wow... some serious horsepower there. I guess the advantage of the CPU-GPU architecture is to take advantage of all the extra stream processors to improve the amount of parallel programming tasks. IE cpu only limited to cores while the gpu could use all those spare stream processes. Mine are going to waste for most of the day. But when i fire up quake! they are smoking! (lol)

Yes... But if i dont spend in my business i just pay tax. So i can justify another card and have a backup workstation as well. So i have a 1080 in my other workstation(maybe i should call it playstation) which my son uses to help out with some jobs - and incase my main system fails - and my main system has a 1080ti. Just waiting for canon lake to arrive so i can update my mobo. I thought kabylake was going to be a descent cpu but i was wrong. I think Ryzen (amd) has Intel worried - and rightly so. slightly less performance for 1/2 the cost. If intel do not respond - and respond relatively quickly - their market share will be affected.

So when canon lake is released - providing there is about a 20% performance jump - i will purchase one of them as well. Cant wait for 3dxpoint and optane to go commercial as well - but will settle for M.2 with 2.1MB/s write speeds and NAND !

Ahhh the luxuries of working in IT. I wish i could write off my helis as a business expense.

They are pretty good. A distributor is only as good as the manufacturer they represent. Most warranties are treated the same in most pc shops.
