I have nothing against "planks", I flew those before I ever thought about heli's.....and spent years on MSFS from the Commodore 64 days up to FS2004.
I love "all types" of aircraft, but I'm especially drawn to helicopters since they don't necessarily require runway or open airspace to fly. Ive been tempted to get another "plank", but it would have to be one that is overpowered, yet, have enough of a low-speed glide ratio to fly slow. Oddly enough, a LHS has an older foam job on "clearance sale" for $60 USD that might be fun..... ducted fan drive and all...... but they are old enough stock that the LiPo would probably have to be updated if not modified to fit a newer "higher capacity" LiPo to increase flight time. I love Heli's more than anything, yet I can't deny my "plank" roots. If it flies..... I like it. :D

Planks would be fun.. infact many RC models are lots of fun - real world physics. Its what people did prior to pc simulations. I allways liked the 3d foamies. They seem to take lots of skill to fly - like a 3d heli.

I played with some wings and still have them in the garage.. I just spend enough money on helis to worry about planks... But planes have always been a fascination for me in real life.. But yet I fly helis... Go figure..

There are pluses and minuses with both. I think when you start to go bigger a plank takes more time to fix. Eyesight is a big factor with a smaller faster plane - they can get tiny very quickly. A smaller heli can be flown in your backyard - a plane a little harder i think. But both are fascinating.

This type of plank might be
fun, as long as there is no wind, otherwise, give me something with a good power to weight ratio and I'm happy. As I tried to state before.... I was raised on plank, so that comes to me as naturally as riding a bicycle. Heli attracted me by virtue of being more challenging. :D
