I was noticing some weird feelings while flying my gobby 380 at the swamp. It just did not feel right, ie it was a bit lethargic on the pitch pumps. Don`t get me wrong, it was still great - but i noticed something was degrading over time. I was playing around with the swash and noticed that the servo horn was twisting when pressure was placed on the ball link. After X amount of flights the servo horn was actually getting softer!

So i found a set of SAB servo horns which were bigger, stiffer and harder!. I cant wait to try them out this afternoon. Too hot at the moment *35 degs. Has anyone else found the same issue? Here is a comparison of the stock bk servo horn compared to the sab servo horns which fit perfectly.

@Crash Heligod gave up a confession to that sequence of tragedy over in Crash of the Day.

Yes Mr BK should sell the Sab horns with his servos the only problem with the Sab arms is you can never get them to Center 90 degrees on set up

I had NO problem setting the center. You should get a cgy750 @3dmick! No issues whatsoever.

I had no trouble centering the SAB horns on the Demons either.

Never had that happen on any of mine, but I have had the output spline twist right off in a crash with metal horns. So I`m with you with using plastic horns from now on.

I noticed one of mine, the horn aligned about 2° off mechanical center, but I'm only using 45° travel out of 180°. 2° can be corrected through the setup software. Is that not advisable?

Most definitely. The geometry of the swash throughout its travel will be affected if the servo horns are not as close to center as possible during the initial setup. So the procedure for most FBL units is:

      1) find your servo center point - there is normally a zero setting on most FBLs
      2) make sure the servo arms align as close as possible to the servo midway position. This wont be possible all the time because the servo spline may not match with the servo center. So you have to position the servo arm as close as possible to center
      3) adjust the servo horn to true center using the FBL setup procedure.
      4) continue with the rest of the setup....

Its critical that all servo horns are level. If one servo horn is out, you will notice it during hard pitch pumps. The heli will pull to one direction because no matter how you adjust the linkage, it wont be the same as the other linkages through the collective range (because one servo horn is on a different angle from the others).

That's what I thought. I do those 4 steps pretty much exactly as specified. All servos are level during FBL setup except for the one with the spline slightly off by approximately 2°, which was corrected in setup and is level.
The 450 stays level through pitch bumps and all.
I was just making sure I wasn't missing something.

I can't say much based on my limited experience with the V-bar "clone" thus far, but I am impressed with the V-bar Setup software.
