What do you guys think. I currently fly electrics. Was thinking about Nitro. Just because, no other reason.

My question is should a person who is not that mechanically minded (motor wise) consider a Nitro heli?

What different skills and tools are required to build and maintain a nitro?
What are the pros and cons of Nitro vs Elec?

Interested in people's thoughts and experiences.

I pondered this for a while too @Stuart, then swapped a Trex450 Pro for a Trex 600 nitro. It's a hoot. There's quite a few 600 nitros kicking around and they're pretty cheap to buy and run. Best part is you're balls deep money wise if it all goes to hell and you bin it.
I'm going to use mine to get autos down pat and get better at collective management.
If you hunt around you'll find one with a switch glow or the Align version and you can start a 50 size engine with a cordless drill if you want to (assuming you already have one). The 50's are nice & easy to tune with only an idle mix & a high speed mix.
So you wouldn't need any new gear other than a hand crank fuel pump (about $20) and a few basic tools & you're off & running!

@simon your gonna get me in trouble...

I need one that that looks exactly like the Elec Synergy E5 otherwise it may be very difficult to justify the spend... I just picked up the E5 6 weeks ago...

Take Pam on a cruise. 14 days around the South Pacific (Vanuatu, Vila etc). You'll both have a ball, it's a fantastic holiday.

Nope, but there are 3 wheeler mopeds that won't make it to the top of the hill unless one of you gets out. Don't ask me how I know, lucky I was driving.........
