Has anyone brought or used the Devil 380 clone? If you have what is it like?

I would like a goblin but the price is out of my reach (sort of like wanting a Ferrari I suppose). Maybe the devil 380 is good? Is it an exact copy? Anyone going to buy one?

Wow it does look like it moves like a 380 thats for sure. how do you find it feels in the air? what sort of blades are you running? How much did it cost you all up to get flying?

I have not weighed it but I would assume it is heavier. I have the Devil and G380. They fly about the same. My G380 is off some due to the setup. I have Halo 385 main blades and Halo 72 mm tail blades on it. I will not name the FBL system on it now but I plan on installing a Spirit this spring. The Spirit cost about $195US. All up cost to get it in the air was under $600US. This price does not include TX and batteries or shipping cost. It only cost me $20us to ship kit. I bought the combo kit which comes with ALZRC motor and ESC.

      Devil 380 combo kit---------------------------------$303.00us
      Swashplate servos.....KST DAVIGA DS313 ----- $70.00us
      Tail servo....................KST 515---------------------$41.00us
      Main blades................Halo 385mm---------------$42.95us
      Tail blades ..................Halo 72mm----------------$19.95us
      FBL system-------------------------------------------$50.00us
      Total------------$526.90us

How would you compare it to the G380, you seem to be in the unique position to compare both having one of each @ifheli (like quality of parts, flying habits etc), BTW, nice flight - oh, and make it a 3 way with the Chase as well. We'd all be interested in you thoughts.
I saw your you tube video, and you can find the name of that mighty FBL unit there - it's all good, we are not FBL snobs on this site

They have the FU-BAR on both. All I had at the time. I will be going with the Spirit this spring. All three fly well . The Chase360 has some quality control problems. They now have a steel secondary gear / shaft. Hard to compare my G380 right now because of the setup. I have the KDE motor on it w/ 22T pinion and having a bogging issue right now. I need to drop a 23T pinion on it I believe and look the setup over again.

We may have found a weak point on the Devil. There has been two Devils where the tail hub has broken. I have ten flights on mine with no problems. I will be pulling my hub off soon to check it over. If I see anything I don`t like when I check the hub over, I will be installing the G380 tail shaft / hub, O-rings, and spindle. The Devil tail grips will work on the G380 parts. The G380 tail grips bind up on Devil hub when you tighten bolts up.

Hey really informative @ifheli! wow...so do the canopy and tail fit the same? IE are they identical molds? What do the belts feel like?

      Thanks again...

The canopy and boom fit the same. The Devil boom is FG and thicker. The Devil canopy and boom could be used on G380. I now have the Fusuno Monster canopy and boom on Devil. I chipped the paint on the Devil canopy so I switch for a better color. The belts are made in Japan from what I understand. The same quality belts that are on the Chase 360.

I was a member of a heli only club( New England Heli Crew ). I got tired of the shiz and dropped out after one year. I will probably never join another club.

Understandable. There is a club here in OKC, it it's on the opposite side of the city from me. I'm not concerned with going there till my skills are honed well enough that I won't embarrass myself.
      Back to the topic-
I'm noticing that interest in the D380 is increasing more rapidly than some have estimated. I'm seeing more and more discussion on the subject in other forums. A former member of this forum says he has been offered a D380 combo by Bangood to be evaluated and reviewed.

I just hope ALZRC does not raise the new price to high. That will slow down sales. I need more flights & time on mine to prove the Heli. So far the only weak link seems to be the tail hub.

With winter coming my flying will just about stop. I hate cold weather.

we have three confirmed lone wolfs here.... @iggy, @Beaver, and now @ifheli. Regarding the devil 380 i think the prices will drop once sales decline a bit. It seems to be a common strategy. One guy who I knew, used to deal with chinese alot said they can usually drop another 40% and still make profit. How do you find the fubar @ifheli? is it rock solid?

Of course they can profit from lower prices..... The labor is cheap over there, which is why nearly EVERYTHING is made there.

000_0678.jpg 000_0651.jpg 000_0650.jpg ALZRC keeps saying they will be raising the price not dropping it. The FU-Bar has been good and solid. I just finish installing the G380 tail shaft / hub on Devil. I did not see anything wrong with the Devil tail hub.

I had a chance to compare G380 and Devil head parts today. The Devil arms have a tighter tolerance with grips than the G380. The Devil arms will work on either grips.

The G380 arms fit the Devil grips the same way they fit the G380 grips. The G380 arms have a bigger tolerance( more play ) fit with grips. They have the same play on either the Devil or G380 grips. So since the play is the same they should work on either grips.

All the measurements between heads are the same. The Devil hard dampeners(3.78mm) are slightly smaller than the G380(3.80mm) ones. The Devil kits come with a smaller o-ring installed but they supply the thicker o-ring.

The two main shafts I have on hand are the same length. The spindles are the same length.
