A new RC Helicopter has hit the scene. Keep you eye out at IRCHA for the CORE 700. Note that most of the videos are in German Dialect. Check out the flight video, it is insane. The drive train looks to be unique with the drive pulley behind the main rotor shaft. The battery clip is uniqe as well. Servos are easy to access and the build appears to be average in comp[lexity. As an added feature it has RETRACTABLE LANDING GEAR. It looks to be a veryu capable helicopter.

Looks like a BEAST... check out the flying video...Also look at how the tail section works. I have not seen this design before.

I have seen that tail before on a trex 500. Someone in the US makes them as an upgrade.

      That alloy frame looks weighty

It looks heavy but its under 5 kg startweight. He sais the rotor has a different damping system.
The dampeners are on the mainshaft not in the head itself. Therefore the blade holders can be easyer moved from the servos on heavy loads.

Far more the whole construction holds 10 kv continuous power @2400 rpm. Thats much. I like the tail, the covered maingear and the retractable skids where you need a sequenzer on your tx.

      Very nice

Is it just me? Or does the motor look a bit small on such a big frame? (yes, I know looks can be deceiving)

It looks small. But the heli can definitely move looking at the videos @Beaver. And the aluminum support is hollowed out mostly. Im not big on the retractable landing gear as the extra weight the servos will add. The battery tray looks to be a bit different and keeps the COG higher to wards the center. The head block looks to have the dampening provided by the center head bolt with the rubber oring? Again a bit different.

Definitely different. I still have to adjust my thinking from time to time as I'm trying to catch up with the current technology. I came back from the old days of brushed motors and "crystalled" radios. I forget sometimes the power-to-weight ratios have vastly improved with BL motors.

More fragmentation in 700 class segment is always wellcome. ;)

There were complains regarding noise with straight main gear so Karcher switched to slant main gear.

By the way Gartt 700 with some Align parts can also handle 2400RPM. ;) (Check Gartt 800 thread)

So what are other "Divisions" of SAB?

      Probably not this one.

Looks like a well engineered machine, and the main shaft dampened head is definitely a different approach. It seems like a good idea, and I am interested to see how that is going to work out. Another thing I noticed, is how the main frames are designed like the Avant Mostro, and can be removed/changed without disturbing any of the electronic components. Personally, I can do without the retractable skids, although I can see the reason for them on a speed machine. All in all, it seems like a very interesting helicopter, and I can`t wait to see more from it.

Banshee sold 50 helis and production stopped.

TDR production stopped. TDR II (TDS) is still not available. Only second hand is an option.

Question is what is the future of Core 700? Do they want to sell kits for 2500 Euro like Banshee or do they want to sell many kits much cheaper? Karcher probably can start mass production.

Keep in mind Blade 550-700X... production stopped.

I am affaid they will not sell many because price will be probably around $1200-$1500.

Taking into account problems with early versions of Agile 7.2 (weak belts), Align 700 (many problems were fixed in later versions), legendary early Goblins boom strikes early buyers should expect some initial issues with premium priced Core 700 kit.

I like tail push rod inside the boom but considering the fact that guldukat is flying constantly $200 Assault 700 frame at 2300-2400 RPM with 14S setup is premium price for Core 700 worth it?

We still focus on frame designs but more important is what electronics you put in those frames.

      - Gartt made 700 motors and frames affordable.
      - KST is main awesome cheap servos for 700-800 class.
      - YEP made ESCs affordable. People put them in Goblins.

I just burned 150A YEP in my X5. I got Hobbywing 100A ESC instead of next YEP. It is much nicer and can handle my friends Goblin 500 stretched to 550mm blades.

I am glad we have many options to choose from. Price wars continue... New players will make Align stronger as market leader I suppose.

Remember that Dunkan Bossion has Chinese King Kong ESC in his X7. Please stay open minded. Share honest experience. They are precious.
