Why do I say this? Well my minip was feeling down on power over the past couple of weeks. It wasnt untill it flew into a tree (low hanging branch stole my vision) and i had change some bits. Well the power lead had only half of the wires terminated. The other half were broken due to constant bending (ie connecting and disconnecting the battery) After stripping back the wire and soldering on a new plug, it is like a new heli again!

Yes exactly! And what a huge difference it makes when you have a decent connection that affords no power loss due to broken strands of wire. Another thing to look out for is corosion or carbon on certain types of plugs. I found EC3 plugs were susceptible to this problem, not ec5 however probably because the contact area is large.

I use the 5mm EC5 on everything including 450 size. They just seem to work. The 5.5 bullets are probably the best for optimum power transfer...

I had about half of a 12ga wire break behind an EC5 from bending. (Solder had wicked into the strands making it rigid, when I bent it I broke it) Running 12S it drew so much current that it desoldered in flight... twice :/ Saved the heli with autos, but it wasn't till the second time that I figured out what the culprit was. At first I thought it was a bad solder job on the connector, but after the second time I cut some wire insulation and found the break. Cut 1/2" off and resolder the connector, never a problem since. :) The separate 2s RX pack saved the day in these instances, and is why I use an ultraguard when I run with a BEC.
