One of my all time favorite pilots for sure... But someone mentioned to me that its crazy to fly that close. Me? I think Tareq has the skills to take evasive action if required. Does everyone else think the same?

Personally, I never ever fly that close to myself...or anyone else. All it takes it one broken link, a servo failure, a stripped tail gear. Anything goes wrong while it`s moving in your direction...and it`s all over. I`m not trying to come down on those who fly that close to themselves, nor and I saying they should stop doing it. Just saying it`s not something I would do myself. :)

      Fantastic flight .
But the danger of flying close has nothing to do with skill we all can suffer from a mechanical failure,

You know I am guilty of flying close. Not big helis though, mainly smaller ones. As i fly my helicopter close I fell like a bug being attracted to the light! It So Puurty ie doing sideways tick tocks. But you know i never feel endangered. A couple of times its blown out after a trick and i managed to make it miss but allways relied on reflexes to make the right decision. I know its maybe not the right thing to do but wow helis look fantastic up close while doing 3d.....

Nine Meters is the golden rule. Any less and things can get bad very quickly.

Too True Geena. Just on the weekend I became a victim of the almighty crash and my MiniProtos bit the dust after some crazy piro filps in a real strong cross wind. The battery was at the end of the cycle and i just could not pull out. I Was pushing it a bit for so long into the flight but now thinking back if it was close...Ouch..

Thats true 5Fidy, but Tareq would have more flights in one week than we have in a year probably. Yet he is unblemished my friend. So is he lucky?

Yes lucky very lucky. But luck always comes to an end.
not saying that it will end in a terrible way. Hopefully it never
does but accidents happen that's why they are called accidents.

Well looking at his bank balance, his heli mechanic, his tiger, his stable of over 200 helicopters.... and can fly like that and not have an accident - I have an inferiority complex now..my friend and whatever way you look at it he is lucky...

He will get bit one day .. but he has the skills to stay as safe as he can.. That close to you and a mechanical failure like a servo going out and all the skill in the world wont save you when it's that close.

When you're dead you don't know your dead its just a problem for the people around you.

It's the same when you're stupid.
