So what do you think about the new LIPO restriction on Air deliveries into Australia? Do you think its justified? Im not sure of the safety ramifications compared to say aerosols or gas lighters etc....

The restrictions were brought in I believe since the Malaysian airplane disaster. I think the limit on battery size is 100 Watt Hours. The restrictions make it harder for people to bring in 6S 5A batteries or greater into Australia by air. Somebody had to be seen doing something so this restriction was put in place - even though there is no evidence to support lipos as being the cause.

id be interested to see the ratio of air disasters caused by properly stowed dangerous goods compared to accidents caused by:

      1. pilots pushing through bad weather to meet deadlines
2.poor maintenance procedures and cost cutting, and outsourcing of maintenance.
3.Aircraft flight path over questionable airspace.

Lipos may not have a place on commercial passenger airline, but shoul be ok on cargo planes.

I would have thought the aviation industry would have bigger fish to fry at this point in time.

I thought that the 100 watt hour limit was for what you could take as carry on luggage?
