Just got my chase kit. Outstanding quality. cant wait to get it in the air.

Run into a slight issue though, i cant seem to get my belt to run in the centre of the 50t pulley. Its running a little on the low side. no matter where i position the motor pinion ( if its to high, it just scraps the motor mount and flat head screws). Ive tried fliping the belt aswell. still cant get it to run centre. It doesnt slide down any lower, but its right down by the edge ( +- 1mm). is it ok to run it like this?

Yea - mine rides the edge also.. nothing really can be done to fix it that I can see.. mine is neat with the edge so I gather that's ok ... no issues so far..
Just as long as it doesn't actually overhang at all..

Re the pinion scraping on the motor screws - yea.. same here.. I machined my pinion down on a lathe but look at earlier pics, others put theirs in a dremel to make it clear the screws a little more.

I machined the elongated slots deeper ,now the screw heads sit just under the surface = no interference

Nice - yea my tail blades scrape the grip bolt a fraction..

I have radix 59mm tails on mine that you saw fly - they are working well so far.
I thought they might be too short and lack authority but are actually doing fine..

So did you actually get to fly the chase today ?

Thanks @jockstrap , spent an hour or so getting pitch set up right then went up for a hover which didn't last long and drifted on landing causing blade to hit the ground = broken blade:( So that was me for the day.
Big thanks to @feral for his help and the Align tail blades!!!

      Hi guys,

Almost finished my build, but was just wondering if I could get some tips on some issues I've run into.

      1) the belt on my first reduction gear runs right at the bottom edge, is this ok? Or can this be shimmed ( think I read that somewhere but can't find it)

      2) can someone please confirm the direction of the lower Bering block? Is the flanged part facing up or down??

      Thanks!!
      Alex

The flange on the lower bearing block should face up i.e. opposite to the top block.

      Bearing blocks go this way.
The purpose of the flanges are to keep the bearings in. No locking collars needed
