I don't think a 550 sized speed machine will be a hit, a 700 will always fly faster (IMHO), and for the money you would go close to a G700 speed (probably), so the question is why and what were they thinking?

Now 580 blades on a gobby 570 would turn a monster into a psycho monster!

I love the names people are calling this heli... ie the flounder... the sole fish/fish. What other names can people think of? How about - the thong? (as in footwear thong) or the paddle pop?

I'm not going to say what commercial fishers call the sole (as in the fish)!

Forgive me, but, just as there are boom strikes, is there any potential for a fuselage strike with this model?

It looks like there isnt much clearance between the blade holders / blade root and the fuselage.

I don't see it happening unless for some reason the fuselage came loose and happen to get caught up in the rotor head.

I wouldn't be too sure about the 700 class being the be all and end all of the speed scene. It's all about lift and drag and without seeing how this little beasty performs it is possible that it could be a 700 slayer... Or maybe not, the proof will be in the pudding I guess.
