Poor old @CrashMinion wanted a break from having to come up with all the riddles. So here's a new thread where whoever gets the riddle correct has to come up with the next one.
Here's the first one. I'll provide some clues if required, but have a think about it first.............

I'm number 3 and I'm in charge. What am I?

    Fire away!

Y is directly measurable, X is a derivative.

OK OK OK... X = Control and Y = Power You cant have control if the heli isnt flying. Power is needed to have control!!!

Y is greater at the main shaft than at the motor. But X is the same at both.

      We have a winner.
But you still have to answer why X can very with Y as a constant :)

      Your up..

Ummm well yeah... Me thinks torque is the force needed to cause an object to rotate. The force required to maintain said rotation (governed head speed) is constant, but due to varying loads on the drive system (cyclic, collective and tail loads) a variable power source is needed to produce the required force. This is why current draw from your flight pack or throttle position on a nitro are constantly changing (power) to maintain the set head speed (torque).
