Ok, so i'm looking into messing about with telemetry options, whats out there for us to play with, speed sensors, like GPS , Electric Fuel-gauge is that about it, Never looked into it.

For myself especially for the 14sg, as i know other systems have other things?

Would like to know peoples thoughts.

Although a little pricey. Futaba have available = Vario GPS Temp Voltage and RPM in optical and magnetic. I think if the guy who developed the fuel gauge puts his talent to work he could produce the above at a more reasonable price . At the moment Graupner build into to their receivers things like Vario ,3A and 3G(flybarless) plus additional telemetry options including GPS ,RPM, Temperature and electric fuel gauge with all 14 cells individually displayed at a fair price. I believe Jetti have much he same telemetry options that are slightly higher priced.

When all is said and done. What you extreme 3d guys need is a system that give you a shock of electricity instead of a vibe warning when you have over taxed your system! Wouldn't that be cool?

Futaba, through Robbe, do an airspeed sensor as well as a multi GPS sensor. Have a look at http://www.perthrc.com.au/radios-and-accessories/telemetry/robbe-futaba-en-2.html
Hitec do a full range of telemetry for voltage, current, temp, RPM, air speed and even a fuel gauge that goes on a nitro tank. They all have to be wired back to a "sensor station" rather than the daisy chain system that Futaba use.

I use the Futaba 14sg and 7008sb combo, and run several telemetry options.

The external voltage cable is a good start for giving you the main pack voltage, plugs into the antenna end of the 7008sb, solder black an red cable into the main pack plug before the ESC.

The GPS sensor is good for positioning data like altitude, distance, speed and vario. Sometimes the speed doesn't register (blank reading), but when it does work it serves as a good scale indicator for how fast you may be going if you have no other means of measure. Plugs straight into the sbus2 port/hub.

There are several RPM indicators, easiest I've found is the SBS-01RB, which you just solder its two wires to any 2 of the motor wires. The TX will receive a rpm value, but you will need to figure out a gear ratio value in order to correct the overly large transmitted value. This one I was only able to find from RC Japan.

Throw in one of these for if you are loading up more than one sensor.

I also have a few temperature sensors to try but can't really be bothered. I have also tried the magnetic rpm sensor by glueing the magnet to the main gear.

I tend to get really motivated to install these sensors, but once I'm actually installing them on the heli I loose interest as the extra wiring is hard for me to keep neat, and it does my head in when I can't get the wiring layout neat.
Though the data is good to have, speed and altitude are always interesting.
